"My personal Experience with Ed Murphy and Daniel Collins of Magavern, Magavern and Grimm was nothing short of a Complete Nightmare. I would NEVER RECOMMEND them to even my Worst Enemy. My wishes were Completely Ignored and upon me expressing my legitimate concerns they dropped me as a paying client via an email, not even an attempt to address my concerns was ever made. Instead, they dropped me from my OWN FAMILY"S 200 Year Old Law firm that was founded by my Forefathers and Namesakes via email. Very Meek and Pathetic to say the least. Ed Murphy is a very weak attorney in my opinion and wasn't concerned with what was best for me, the CLIENT. Instead, Ed decided on his own to take the path of least resistance and not fight for what was legally owed to me. He wrote a demand letter not even requesting the full amount owed to me based on our expert's review that I paid an additional $2,500 to get. Literally a day or two before I provided him a complete breakdown of my requested settlement and all the receipts were very clearly outlined for him. Never did I get so much as a phone call from them upon expressing my concerns, What I received from the firm my Family founded was an email abandoning me as a client. They not only failed me that day when Ed went home for the weekend not responding to my legitimate concerns. He also dropped the ball on the opposing Counsel who had been notified he would receive the letter that Friday. As we had been waiting for the paid experts review for weeks. We finally had what we were waiting for to settle this obvious case of Misrepresentation, wire fraud and bait and switch, but instead Ed choose to ignore my wishes when he drafted a demand letter requesting TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars less than I had requested and was legally owed to me. Ed didn't even request the total amount the expert confirmed was rightfully owed, nor did he request my attorney fees to be reimbursed as is my legal rights under NYS Business Law 349 & 350 of the Deceptive Practices and Consumer Protection Acts. I honestly don't believe he was even aware of these most basic business laws. As he clearly told me he couldn't in "GOOD FAITH" request my legal fees????? Seriously! I only received a call from Richard Grimm upon me posting a Google review months back. He wasn't at all concerned with the fact that Ed dropped a Magavern as a client, he was only concerned about him and the firm being hurt by a Magavern posting such a negative, yet truthful review. During this conversation even he (Richard Grimm) admitted the communication between Ed and Daniel could have been much better, but never did he give so much as an apology. The actions of these three Attorneys was anything but professional, and in some cases falls under Malpractice and incompetence at the highest level for two of them. There were even clear signs of Lawyer-Client confidentiality being broken. Being born and raised into such a well respected and hard working family, I was taught from a very young age to take great pride in our name and the manner in which we carry ourselves. This experience came as one of the GREATEST DISAPPOINTMENTS OF MY LIFE. The one time in my 62 year life that I needed my family's firm, they completely FAILED ME. Having to endure such unprofessionalism from a Firm that Five generations of my family have worked so hard to build into the well respected firm it was up until recently isn't right. I don't know how it's integrity has diminished so quickly now that there's no longer a Magavern at the helm, but I will never deal with them again, nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. The Pride I have carried in this firm since birth was stolen from me by the incompetence of these three lawyers, and for that I am most disappointed. I can say with great certainty, that my Great Grandfather the founder of this firm would be Proud of me for standing up for myself against such unprofessionalism and downright malpractice, while rolling over in his grave to see what has become of his firm under this new leadership. "They made several referrals but none of them followed through with my request for help with my legal matter! Very unprofessional organization and also does not return phone calls nor does it help you with any legal issues ! I don't know how the legal system works in the state of New York but from my experience they don't! They must pick and choose which cases they want to handle based on the least amount of effort on their part with the most amount of money they can line their pockets with!!! Don't waste your time with the Erie county bar or it's lawyer referrals! You would be better off representing yourself at least you would get something accomplished!!!!"

"Initially I was given a good referral.I live in California and needed an estate lawyer to handle my mother’s estate. Unfortunately I had to find a second attorney and that referral was a waste, in fact in trying to retain one of the lawyers they referred, I was strung along for months. When I had finally had enough of him, I went back for another referral and was told that they had given all the referrals they could give and were not responsible for the referral. While I understand the limit to referrals, I do not understand how they could refer such a poor unprofessional lawyer like the one I got. Be warned, even after being referred research the referral, I didn’t and it cost me financially. You would think you can trust a Bar Association but don’t."
